attending the totally-chic July 9 BAFTA Brits to Watch event in Los Angeles!
William and Kate, both 29, definitely stole the spotlight from some of Hollywood’s biggest names. William was all class in his tuxedo, while Kate turned heads all night in her most jaw-dropping look yet. She sported a lovely Alexander McQueen gown — it was her most beautiful look of the whole royal trip! She accessorized with earrings on loan from Queen Elizabeth and sky-high heels with champagne-colored Jimmy Choo Vamp Glitter Sandals.
The couple sat at the table of honor alongside heavyweights such as Nicole Kidman, Barbra Streisand and husband James Brolin. Also at the high-profile event were A-Listers such as Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Kristin Chenoweth, Jason Bateman, Elizabeth Banks, Jack Black, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Jonah Hill and Chris Evans.
This was definitely one of the most star-studded events in Hollywood EVER. Do you think Kate was the prettiest star at the show, HollywoodLifers?

ALAS International Holdings, Inc. VDSC -4.76% today announced their plan to begin production of solar panels under an agreement with Green Solar LLC, a Florida corporation, for exclusive manufacturing rights to produce their new solar panels.
Mark Green, owner of Green Solar, stated, "The solar panels we have developed include patented material which we have the exclusive rights to use in the manufacturing of solar panels. We have applied for additional patents to include that material in the process developed by my company.
"Our Green product has proven to produce equal or greater power per panel than competitive panels and is virtually indestructible. When our panels are subjected to extreme punishment, they remained operational with little or no reduction in output. This is important when used in areas subjected to hurricanes, tornados or damaging hale. Our panels will continue to operate, unharmed without the need of expensive replacement. We have entered into an agreement with distributors to begin production of an initial 4,000 Green Solar panels and are excited about moving forward."
Edwin Salmon, ALAS CEO stated, "We plan to start manufacturing with the initial order this week."

Getting people to throw trash into trash containers and recyclables into recycling containers is not as easy as it might seem.
Village Council spent about a half hour at its June 29 special meeting coming up with some parameters for a downtown recycling program.
Among the challenges council faces: Ensuring trash and recyclables go into the proper containers and placing the receptacles in easy-to-find areas.
An initial proposal from village staff for a station with four holes, for plastic bottles, glass bottles, paper and trash, was rejected.
Councilwoman Michelle Lerner said such a station would be bulky. Other council members said not all the materials are generated in the downtown area.
Instead, the council asked village staff to draft a plan that implements the use of smaller receptacles, each of which handle a specific item. The receptacles then could be placed outside venues generating the designated item.
Only a few downtown establishments generate an appreciable amount of recyclables from customer sales, council members said, among them the CVS drug store (beverage containers) and Whit's Frozen Custard (plastic ice cream containers), council members said. They said the receptacles should be targeted to those establishments.
"We need to place them where they will have an impact," said Village Councilman Steve Mershon.
Two containers that accept all recyclable materials now are interspersed with trash containers on the north side of Broadway. The containers for recycling are brown (distinguishing them from the green trash containers) and have the words "recyclables only, please" on the top.
But village officials said people put trash as well as recyclables in the brown containers. The officials said they would prefer a receptacle with an opening intended for a particular recyclable item and the trash and recycling containers should be side by side to encourage people to distinguish between them.
Dawn Busalacchi, a member of the Green Society of Granville, said there is a learning curve in persuading people to recycle, but she and others are willing to help instruct the public in use of the receptacles.
Acting Village Manager Paul Feldman said he will speak with the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce about a plan to encourage businesses to recycle materials.

Ready, set, run!
Missoula will become a running Mecca this weekend, as thousands of local runners and speedy folks from out-of-state converge on the Garden City for the fifth annual Missoula Marathon.
The 26.2-mile marathon and 13.1-mile half-marathon take place Sunday, and registration numbers are on par with last year, said race director Anders Brooker. Organizers are planning for about 4,000 participants.
Registration for the Kids' Marathon on Saturday, a distance of 1.2 miles, is way up over last year, with more than 500 youngsters lacing up their running shoes.
Already, more than 60 runners who've participated in all previous Missoula marathons have registered for the 2011 race.
As the Missoula Marathon grows, organizers work to keep as many roads open as possible along the route on the day of the race. Brooker doesn't want to inconvenience Missoulians. Rather, he encourages runners and non-runners alike to get involved in the many activities planned for the weekend.
"We're always working to get more fans out there," he said. "It's early, but the fastest half-marathon runners will finish around 7 a.m., so we encourage people to get out there, cook some breakfast, have some mimosas and cheer on the runners."
The half-marathon and marathon races both begin at 6 a.m.
The marathon starts in Frenchtown. Runners hit the blacktop along Mullan Road, wind their way through Big Flat, cross Maclay Bridge, run through Orchard Homes into the heart of the city, around Bonner Park and eventually end on the north side of the Higgins Avenue Bridge.
The half-marathon begins southwest of town on Blue Mountain Road and connects with the marathon race route in the Big Flat area.
The festivities begin Friday evening with the Missoula Marathon's inaugural beer run from the Badlander Bar at 6 p.m. Runners start at the bar and run a pre-determined 3-mile, 4-mile or 5-mile route. The Badlander will offer specials on local microbrews.
Saturday's traditional Missoula Marathon race expo has gotten bigger and better this year, with the addition of a downtown festival in Caras Park. All runners must attend the expo to pick up their race packets, but now the rest of the Missoula community is invited, too, to enjoy local musicians, food vendors and the Kids' Marathon starting at 10 a.m.
"We're trying to add more and more events to the weekend," Brooker said. "With the festival, we want anyone who wants to come down and have a beer and enjoy live music to take part in the weekend."
Runners will notice new mile markers on the course this year. Instead of the uniquely designed plaster leg statues designed by Montana artists, 8-foot-tall teardrop signs on the right side of the road will mark the course. As the race increased in size, organizers had to rely on larger signs to mark the route, Brooker said. The leg statues will be used in other capacities during the race, he said.
Also, the entire course this year will be lined with cones, which improves runners' safety and adds a more consistent, professional feel, he said.
Race organizers are also taking steps toward making the event more environmentally friendly. Each aid station will contain a high-speed filling system for runners with plastic water containers. Instead of grabbing plastic cups, runners can now refill their own water bottles.
Brooker doesn't expect the filler system to be wildly popular the first year, but he hopes that more runners will take up the practice.

IT could be my imagination. But I swear that since Christine Lagarde came to prominence, Theresa May has upped her game. Not in political terms, necessarily. But I've noticed her embracing the grey in her hair, streamlining the tailoring, and sidelining the leather jackets and spiky shoes that were just that little bit too young for her.
What the Home Secretary chooses for her wardrobe obviously has nothing to do with me, and it won't make any difference to her policies. But it's good to see a high-flying fiftysomething woman confident in her own skin, especially in Britain. Because for far too long this particular gender, at this particular age, in this particular country, has been more or less invisible to the public eye.
So it has taken the appointment of an especially stylish and charismatic Frenchwoman to head the IMF to make us step back and think about it. And yes, I know it is shallow to judge someone on the way they look. But the age we live in is as visual as the Middle Ages (no pun intended), when the vast majority of the population couldn't read, so had to rely on pictures to tell them stories. There is probably something deep to say here related to falling educational standards and our obsession with celebrity, but let's not get distracted.
What is indisputable is that Lagarde is no desperate ingénue. She is a smart woman of 55 who celebrates the fact that sometimes, being female in a tough situation can be a bonus, not a hindrance, and talks openly about her “feminine and understated” negotiating style.
She even has the courage to blame the blokes for our international financial ills; pointing the finger at testosterone-fuelled bankers for the financial crash and tutting that the euro never had a good start because of its, “founding fathers… founding fathers, not mothers, notice. Regrettably, there was no woman at the table at the time.”
It is reductive to argue that we don't have women like Lagarde in British politics or public life, because if you look closely, we do, or we certainly have the potential to produce them. It's just that all too often, they are sidelined, pilloried, or never put themselves forward for high office.
